Bikes from True Blood

True Blood. I hear it's this gay vampire series on TV. But hey, I can't get enough of it... This season's developed some more story-line on the red neck biker werewolves. There's loads of scenes shot in a garage/chop-shop/clubhouse with some seriously cool choppers in the background. Old-school meets new-school tanks, springer front ends, twisty twirly pipes, retro paint jobs, plenty of brass, bling and raw chopper coolness.

Come to think of TV shows, the bikes on True Blood are better than the lame stock Harleys featured in Sons of Anarchy, which of course is parody of the Hells Angels. From memory the best lookin bike would probably have to have been a Sportster 883/1200. For a show where bikes are a pivotal part of the theme, it was such a let down. Each time a scene in the workshop was shot, the SAMCRO crew were either wrenching down wiring or mock fitting the same tank since episode one.

The True Blood set turns out to be a real chop-shop, a phenomenal one at that. It's the garage of
Powerplant Choppers, run by owner and builder extraordinaire Yaniv “Nivo” Evan in the USA.

Here's some screenies and a few bikes from their site.
