The wheels were disassembled, cleaned, painted and re-spoked. The spokes in partcular had some rust wear and some spokes were locked with their nipples, probably because they were made from like materials, which bonds them together over time.
The front wheel was enlarged and respoked to achieve the chopper/bobber styled wheel stance.
Spoking is an art of it's own with a few tricks to it. I used the different colours to guide the re-spoking process as to get the pattern right. After doing it you figure out the little tricks involved.
As the front rim was powder coated, which when scratched or cracked it can peel like plastic. If during that time it rusts, you won't notice until it's too late. Opposed to paint, you can just patch it up. So, as a precaution, I gave up on the front and had it done at the shop. Ironically the shop scratched my rim anyway... Luckily it was only superficial stuff that buffed out just fine.
