A neat video of Dustin Kott from Los Angeles and some of the bikes he builds. Some good inspiration as I'm a fan of modified Hondas, especially with those miniature duck tails.
Watching this video at night is like listening to a bed time story. Such a beautiful video. The voice over is hypnotic. The recording of the revs is euphoric. It strikes an auditory nerve and unleashes these brain tingling reactions.
That reminds me, I really should get back to working on the bike.
Sydney weather was appalling through the start of December. Every year that I can remember started with Summer in December. The blazing heat wave summons everyone to the beach. We used to jigg school and bus it, skip uni, take afternoons off work. Then back at home, the AC is on sub zero temps whilst everyone veges out the couch. The thought of stepping outside for a cigarette is torturous enough to deter one from sparking up.
Then for some reason, probably Global Warming related, maybe tectonic plate drift, planetary migration, I dunno. It just got cold, rainy and grossly humid. Day after day. It felt bizarre. until Christmas day, the day Summer came back to Sydney. Honestly, I'm only pointing out the obvious because I really cannot remember ever having such a bizarre Summer. Only on new years did we strip down by the pool and soak up some Vit D.
Ah... the weather, it truly does affect our lives.
So there we have it, another couple of months down the gutter, in terms of getting the bike along anyway. Yeah... I'll get my act together and get this bitch complete. I want to start messing around with bigger bike already.

Don't know how many times I've watched this video... or read your blog for that matter. I have a 1980 Yamaha sr250 that I've recently wanted to start modifying. I did have some questions I'd like to run by you since we have such similar bikes... ?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. The 1980 model is the essentially the same bike. So, yeah feel free to ask away, although I can't guarantee I'll be of help.
